Well said.
Thank you Kathy
Pleasure! Hope it was insightful!
Good Morning, I totally agree about the little yappers. The owners need to do their homework on the breed before buying a dog. It is also up to them to train and ensure that the dog is not incessantly barking for no reason and correct it. A properly trained/ disciplined dog is a pleasure to have around. In my opinion the majority of South Africans are quite clueless when it comes owning/socialising their dogs.
As far as a Therapy Dog is concerned is there not a certificate that can be supplied to prove that the dog is a special needs/guide dog? I am a owner of a few townhouses that are rented out and this may be of great help when trying to convince the Body Corporates.
Hi Shemara
Its basically the body corporate and trustees who make that decision. Its up to the owners in the complex to attend AGM’s and put their vote forward to allow pets. If enough people agree to it, the rules will be changed.
I fully agree. This 30cm rule has never made sense to me as it is basically saying only noisy, excitable dogs may live here. Which makes no sense at all. My chows never bark but they wouldn’t be allowed into most complexes. Plus it’s the cruelest thing in the world to take pets away from old people.
