LITTLE DEFY IS SUCH A GEM ❀❀❀❀❀
WHO WILL GIVE HER THE HOME SHE SO DESERVES?

DEFY
Female
D.O.B. September 2019

We are delighted to be able to finally introduce you to little DEFY. DEFY is a VERY special girl who was confiscated as a small puppy on a cruelty case last November, terribly malnourished and kept chained to a washing machine, hence her quirky name 😒 Her owners claimed her after confiscation which meant we were unable to put her up for adoption until the case was finalised. We are happy to report that the outcome of the case was favourable and DEFY now has a second chance to find a loving, caring future.

Imagine how terrifying it must have been for a small puppy to clang her way in and out of the washing machine to eliminate or try to eat what little scraps were on offer. She absolutely knew no kindness whatsoever before she came to us and it took some time for her to understand that a human hand does not have to mean pain. The slight malformation on her right front leg is all that remains from the early malnutrition she endured, but the scars of the mental abuse she suffered run deeper.
DEFY has still not been able to overcome her fears and she runs to her safe spot whenever things become too much for her. Certain sounds trigger this behaviour such as the squeaking of the run gate, the turning on of the hose – routines that sadly we can’t get away from in kennels and it breaks our hearts to see this when all we want for her is to be a happy pup. All staff and volunteers adore her and she is slowly learning how to play with dog toys.
This means that her adoptive home will need to be equally special, with one on one attention, patience, dedication and above all knowledge to allow her to become the carefree, happy pup she should be. The usual queries of whether she is good with other dogs or cats cannot apply in her case, she is not ready for that. She was not properly socialised before she came to us and socialisation at kennels was difficult because she does not understand normal dog language cues due to her upbringing. That doesn’t mean she is unadoptable at all, but we will have to find the RIGHT home for her.

If you think you can offer DEFY the type of home we are looking for and that she needs in order to thrive, please get in touch with us on 028 514 2083. She deserves to be healed and loved for the rest of her life.

OUDTSHOORN DOGS IN NEED, WESTERN CAPE

So what if we have short legs but LARGE attitudes .. our mommy is a Daxie cross and all small breeds are packaged with attitude and fun πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Please come visit .. we are ready to go to our forever homes by the weekend.

Oh our Kennel mommy is adamant about the following ..

A 12 to 17 year commitment .. we need human company at home while still puppies – sorry housekeeper or elderly parent who can’t play with us or rush us to Vet won’t work, but puppy creche would; also no pitbulls; no unsterilised siblings; no kiddies younger than six (we have heard some horror stories 😭) … ag we know Kennel mommy sounds difficult but she’s got our backs and that’s real cool. ‘Cause she cares. ‘Cause she did not rescue us just to “find a home”. It’s all about the RIGHT home πŸ™πŸ€ΈπŸ™πŸ€Έ

Please Whatsapp only for information @ ODIN at Tantivvey in Blanco, George 0720841374
